She was the daughter of major novelist William Godwin and womanhood activist Mary Wollstonecraft, and the wife of one of the primary second-generation poet. In life, Mary had to face many situations without her mother, because she was only eleven days old when she passed away. passim Marys life, she lost three of her four children prematurely.
